Profile relaxation; quiet and instinct

Relaxing, quiet and instinct are the basic demand for practicing Qi Gong. In terms of understanding and commanding; the three demands are in the course of practice and promotion.

1.relaxation

(1) Relaxation of body and limb includes bones and muscles; skin and flesh; big and small joints. Relaxing needs relax endurably. Hard and soft are together. Keep round and soft state. Steam and energy circulate in body. The round can accelerate running. The soft can accelerate penetration and lead to the purpose of external conducting and internal circulating.

(2) Relaxing of meditation: In the course of mind adjustment one doesn`t hurry and pursue with quiet breath. There is no more forgetting and no more initiative. By using meditation in quiet state to guide energy and in turn energy will guide action and forming.

(3) Relaxing of thought: The practitioners must abandon the burden and establish the faith of fighting diseases and make long-term determination of practice. Nurturing ethically decent thought could step in superior Qi Gong potentiality.

(4) Relaxing of organs: eye; ear; nose; mouth and tongue are the windows of their organs. Outer cave is loose. The inner cave is also loose. The Chinese ancient Qi Gong practitioner stated "open the gateway and fly the cave." It is the key to get in superior state toward relaxing the organs.

2.Generally speaking; relaxation has three processes

(1) For a beginner it is a principle to set properly the four limbs and straighten the head up to suitable situation.

(2) Check every parts of the body. Make sure whether the muscle is loosened. Meantime the bone seems soft. The energy runs perfect. The blood circulates the body faster.

(3)As long as we reach the super relaxation, the whole body begins bathing with energy. Without counter thought things. as if existing or no existing. There appears the feeling of light and heave; soaring and drifting. Then we will reach unusual pleasure and happiness.

3.The elements of affecting relaxation

(1) The mood is instable. There appears the counter thought things.

(2) Hurry to succeed. It is hard to relax.

(3) One section of the body has been found mental disease. As a result it affects looseness and quiet.

(4) The gesture and posture is not correct. Both breath and action are not regular.

4.Quieten down

(1) Primary class: The gesture or posture needs to be suitably natural. The breath is relaxing and the counter thought things can be controlled and be satisfied with Qi Gong demands. One meditation will probably replace zillion meditations.

(2) Middle class: On the base of primary class you could not be bothered by the outside interference, try to see nothing and hear nothing. Body is relaxing. Breath is increasingly deep and long. Feeling likes existing or no existing. There often appears the feeling of light and heavy; warm and ticklish.

(3) High class: On the base of the middle class. The breath of mouth and nose are decreasing .It is subtle. The body seemingly appears drifting, soaring and nothing, and seems like existing or no existing. Mind and energy mingle, then merge into vacancy; melting and empty. After that you can fell refreshing; intellectual; energetic and fairyland.

5.Pay attention to the following problems of practice and quiet

(1) Before the practice; the mood must be steady. A Chinese ancient practitioner said, "at the beginning of accommodation; you must be quiet and mild. Prevent the mind from desirable privacy and sex." Otherwise stop the practice temporarily.

(2) For beginner; you would better choose a quiet place. Avoid outside interference. After a period of practice you have to know to capture a quiet in noisy condition. Finally you can be increasingly improved.

(3) As to the gesture and posture for beginner it demands considerably to its extent. Use the gesture and posture to guide. Make conductor soft. Guide outside and circulate inside. The middle class and high class have a few actions with small span. Then gradually demand meditation to head the energy; in turn energy leads to forming. Meditations, energy and forming work together. Both looseness and quiet have to be instinctive. Quiet Qi Gong appears standing; sitting and lying. They are single form but both of them quiet outside and acting inside. After approaching to high classes Qi Gong period, the energy seems floating around the body. The more you practice the more you understand and comprehend. Then you can deploy your own sub-consciousness to quiet down. Method is changeable. Every method belongs to origin or instinct. Never forget it and never harry yourself. Keep the Qi Gong quiet all the time.

(4) Pay attention to breath. Lead your breath to be mild. Settle down the mind before breath adjustment. The more the mind settles the more the breath accommodates. When you stop in the superiorly loosened and quieted state, there automatically emerges the phenomenon of inner body breath. The breath seems more or less, long or short.

(5) Desire no more, pursue no more. Cling toward the instinct. The Chinese ancient practitioner said, "nothing in mind is vacancy, nothing in thought is quiet." "Vacancy the comfortable dilution, the intellectual energy follows, conserve the spirit internally, the health come out". The Chinese ancient Qi Gong founder Lao Zi in his Daoism scripture said "vegetation flourishes, each one belongs to its root, back to root means quiet, quiet means restoration". "Reach high light of vacancy, it is time to quiet down heart and soul, every thing works together". All the pulse of the world works together. Namely it means melting in the nature. Receiving the natural energy. Human and nature stay together harmoniously. Until the "heaven and human melt into one". "Nature is my heart and soul."

  To sum up, quiet and instinct rely on each other; improve each other during the process. "Quiet state adjusts spontaneously the breath, then the breath adjustment concentrates spontaneously the mind". Mind, forming and energy melt together and then the practitioners reach the refined state with good body and good mind.

 

The diagram of Qi Gong practice

Breath adjustment → breath guide → mild energy → long and soft breath → no full inspiration \no endless expiration

Forming adjustment → acting guide → mild leading → hard and soft together → soft not loosen\tight not stiffen

Mind adjustment → meditation guide → decent motivation → one meditation replace zillion → quiet not sleep\not forget not help

Subtle existence, mild and soft far → loose, quiet and natural → meditation, energy and forming together → concentrate energy increase energy whole mind → full energy\full mind → heaven and people melt into one nature is my heart and soul
